CLEANING AN OVEN – SAFELY

I am not a fan of the oven cleaning chemical, whatsoever. After having my hands burnt so badly which actually took 2 years to heal, and knowing a mum who spent over 18 months getting her child skin grafts due to the same toxic chemical.

I have a solution ladies and gentlemen, and it has been working quite well for me over my time with Domestics Plus Queensland. Place all the oven trays in the bath tub, or laundry sink. Put the plug in. Squirt dish washing liquid (not dishwasher powder) on the trays, soak them in boiling hot water for at least half an hour. While you are waiting, clean the oven door and oven with a window blade, as per attached picture. Remove as much of the built up grease as you can with that blade –  put the removed residue into a bin. The glass blade is designed to remove concrete and paint splatters from new windows, and is safe to use without damaging. Then use a nylon scourer with either ajax powder or jif cream cleanser to remove the rest of the residue NOW, your trays should be ready to clean with this special steel scourer… found at the local supermarket in a pack of 4 for 89 cents. Use it to remove all the baked on grease etc, it does such a fantastic job, with your help of course. This is not going to make your oven look brand new, there are specialists who can do that for you at aprice, but it will DEFINITELY be a better job than the chemical clean. And you don’t have to tolerate the all too familiar yucky smell next time you turn on your oven.

I’d like to show this to all of the people that claim being a mother/housewife is an easy ride and not a proper job!!! Some people really dont seem realize how hard it can be to keep a home clean and tidy! Would have been nice to see picks of the house finished.
